About us

What is Enlighten Your Grow?

Enlighten Your Grow, a program of Climate Resources Group, enables indoor cultivators to be more profitable by offering solutions for reducing their facilities’ energy and environmental footprint.

Our mission is to help our grower clients reap the financial, compliance, and reputational rewards of making smart choices to reduce their overall energy and water intensities and solid waste stream.

Who we serve

Enlighten Your Grow provides services to the cannabis and controlled environment agriculture communities. We believe that crops produced in CEA facilities can bring enormous benefits to society, and that indoor horticulture will be a net benefit only if these facilities are designed and operated with efficiency and sustainability in mind.

Our ideal clients are those who are:

  • New or existing operators interested in pursuing maximum energy performance in their cultivation facilities;
  • New or existing operators looking to reduce their capital expenses via financial incentives, such as utility energy efficiency rebates;
  • Early-stage operators interested in developing a solid business case for sustainability to their investors and stakeholders;
  • Cultivation facility owners in permitting and needing to share a sustainability plan with their internal teams and/or relevant permitting authorities;
  • New or existing operators needing to comply with state or local energy and environmental regulations or reporting requirements; and/or
  • Publicly listed companies needing to develop and execute a plan to comply with ESG reporting requirements.

Who we are

Enlighten Your Grow is led by Sam Milton, entrepreneur and energy and sustainability expert. Sam has decades of experience working with organizations and companies to help them reduce their energy and environmental footprint. Since 2018, he has worked with dozens of cannabis companies to help them capture millions of dollars of energy utility energy efficiency dollars and advocated on their behalf before many utilities.

Sam holds advanced degrees in environmental policy and economics from Tufts University’s Fletcher School.

Sam will forever be a Mainer but will never forget his Kansas City roots.

To that end, we proudly provide free or discounted services to license applicants and others who have been disproportionately impacted by the war on drugs.

We also proudly donate 1% of our annual revenue to charitable causes that advance social equity, economic justice, environmental protection, and climate action.
