2025 Year-End Energy Efficiency Rebate Guide

It’s the most magical time of the year — when energy efficiency programs close their application windows — and when those that haven’t hit their savings targets start getting desperate.

Here are 5 things you can do NOW to make sure you’re making the most of indoor horticulture incentives to help your customers pull the trigger on LED grow light, HVAC, or dehumidifier purchases, and/or build brand loyalty:

1️⃣ Run an “incentive audit” for all open quotes and recent installs. Go back through every proposal, invoice, and project from the past 9–12 months and flag anything that could qualify for an incentive but hasn’t been submitted. After 8 years in this business, we’re still shocked by how many rebates go unclaimed simply because paperwork wasn’t filed. It may not be too late.

2️⃣ Help your customers get pre-approval letters. You can streamline their pre-approval process by pre-filling forms, sharing all necessary documentation (spec sheets, invoices, light maps, etc.), and providing customers with an easy-to-follow checklist that outlines the steps to take, such as “sign this, attach W-9, we’ll handle the rest.”

3️⃣ Bundle incentives into financing offers or limited-time discounts. If a customer hears “sign before Dec 15 and we’ll reduce the invoice by the expected rebate amount,” the incentive becomes less abstract.

4️⃣ Let your customers know about changes to their local incentive programs in the new year. A simple “changes coming” email or webinar creates urgency and may get some customers over the hump.

5️⃣ Partner with Climate Resources Group to enhance your rebate game. Chances are that if you’re overloaded, your customers are too. Team up with us for a year-end “we get it done for you” package.

6️⃣ BONUS TIP! If you’re in the middle of a custom incentive project, ask your utility’s program administrator for an increase in the incentive payment. It doesn’t hurt to ask, and your customer will remember you forever if you get them more money than expected.
